I have a comfortable private office in Chapel Hill conveniently located off Hwy 15/501 close to I-40 exit. I am in solo practice.

I offer psychotherapy with medication management:
My practice is rooted in holistic nursing. It predominantly focuses on psychotherapy and ketamine-assisted-psychotherapy. I also provide psychotropic medication management, but have only limited availability for people who are looking only for medication management.
Most people develop some kind of self-loathing and feel disappointed in themselves. This is typically based on messages we receive growing up. Somehow, we are never good enough, we don’t measure up in intelligence, beauty, goodness and accomplishments. Rejections from parents, lovers, and friends over the years can cause us to lose self-esteem, confidence, and trust in self. If we had traumatic experiences, we learned to shut down more and feel disconnected from life. Especially when bad things happened when we were still children, we diminished ourselves and constricted parts of ourselves that were not met with safety and acceptance. There is an intelligence that helped us to survive and to get to the present moment. However, now you are in a time in your life that you can seek support to take a new look. Habits and coping that helped you in the past may no longer work, and they inhibit you from finding your true potential and joy.
As a therapist, I can help you to uncover old wounds and hurts, help you to process traumatic experiences, and help you to more deeply connect with who you are in your essence. I use an existential-humanistic core philosophy and integrate a broad array of therapeutic techniques with emphasis on experiential approaches. I have received formal training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am also fully certified as a Realization Process Teacher and Realization Process Trauma Repair Therapist. I believe people have the capacity for self-awareness and choice, and I help my clients to accept themselves and embrace their full potential for growth and change.
Since I am a Nurse Practitioner, I will be able to prescribe medications if we both feel that this is something that could be helpful. To do so, I judiciously prescribe medications to alleviate excess anxiety, worry, anger, and lethargy. I believe that many issues also need to be addressed with other forms of therapy or lifestyle changes.
I am particularly experienced in treating trauma-related symptoms including severe dissociation, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I am licensed to treat adolescents and adults, and currently take clients age 18 years and older.
I especially want to welcome members of the LGBTQIA community and all other minority groups. I make a continuing effort to learn about their specific needs and treatment issues. I have a deep interest in learning from different cultures and wisdom traditions.
I am in network with and accept most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, State Health Plan Clear Pricing Project, Aetna and Medicare. Please call the office at (919) 998-9177 to verify.
